Did Your City Miss Churches Being Open?

DID OUR CITIES MISS OUR CHURCHES, WHILE THEY WERE CLOSED? While being transported to a Sunday morning preaching engagement (in a major metropolitan area), I noticed that the doors of most churches were closed. That is not what was troubling. What was troubling was the fact that the community carried on with their business as usual; totally indifferent to whether the churches (buildings) were opened or not. My prayer today is that the Church would be so effective at attending to the spiritual needs of communities, that populations everywhere will be impacted (positively) by the Church (Not just one local church, but the Church collectively. One local church alone cannot “take the city.” It takes the Church as a whole).

Matthew 21:10 AMP. When He entered Jerusalem, all the city was trembling [with excitement], saying, “Who is this?”

Acts 8:8 KJV.  And there was great joy in that city.

Acts 16:20 NLT. “The whole city is in an uproar because of these Jews!” they shouted to the city officials.

Tacoma, WA Join us tonight!

Tacoma, WA join me tonight @ 7P! I’ll be preaching (the Gospel) for a friend I’ve known since childhood (Bishop Michael Doss). He’s been an example of godliness & faith for decades. #IveGotWorkToDo #ThereIsAWord

It's Always Something

ONE OF THE OLDEST TRICKS IN THE BOOK (to control people) is to create confusion & then present yourself as the hero to solve (the confusion you started). So now, as mask mandates come to an end & Covid numbers (mysteriously all of a sudden) decline, we are now (out of nowhere) focused on war. I honestly agree with former President Ronald Reagan, “In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem." In these last days & perilous times, the saint must heed the words of the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:13-15 ERV. 13” People who are evil and cheat others will become worse and worse. They will fool others, but they will also be fooling themselves. 14 But you should continue following the teaching you learned. You know it is true, because you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have known the Holy Scriptures since you were a child. These Scriptures are able to make you wise. And that wisdom leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

Being Easily Offended

Jeremiah 12:5 NLT. “If racing against mere men makes you tired, how will you race against horses? If you stumble and fall on open ground, what will you do in the thickets near the Jordan?

Proverbs 24:10 MSG. If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn’t much to you in the first place.

Judas Is Closer Than You Think

Psalm 55:20-22 ERV 20 This one who was once my friend now attacks his friends. He is breaking every promise he made. 21 His words about peace are as smooth as butter, but he has only war on his mind. His words are as slick as oil, but they cut like a knife. 22 Give your worries to the Lord, and he will care for you. He will never let those who are good be defeated.

Proverbs 26:23-26 TLB. 23 Pretty words may hide a wicked heart, just as a pretty glaze covers a common clay pot. 24-26 A man with hate in his heart may sound pleasant enough, but don’t believe him; for he is cursing you in his heart. Though he pretends to be so kind, his hatred will finally come to light for all to see.

Choose Your Words Carefully

Proverbs 16:23 TLB. From a wise mind comes careful and persuasive speech.

Luke 20:20 AMP. So they watched [for a chance to trap] Him. They sent spies who pretended to be upright and sincere, in order that they might catch Him in some statement [that they could distort and use against Him], so that they could turn Him over to the control and authority of [Pilate] the governor.

James 1:19 AMP. Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving];

Keys To Promotion

Proverbs 22:29 MSG. Observe people who are good at their work—skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don’t take a backseat to anyone.

2 Thessalonians 3:11-12 ERV. 11 We hear that some people in your group refuse to work. They are doing nothing except being busy in the lives of others. 12 Our instruction to them is to stop bothering others, to start working and earn their own food. It is by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ that we are urging them to do this.

Keep Going!

2 Kg 6:16 CEV.  “Don’t be afraid,” Elisha answered. “There are more troops on our side than on theirs.”

Rom 8:31 CEV. What can we say about all this? If God is on our side, can anyone be against us?

Happy Valentine's Day

LESSON FROM MY VALENTINE! People will pray “for” a spouse that loves God, serves God & works in the church; but get upset “when” the person works for God. Rachel was very patient with me. Our first Valentine’s Day, she had a great romantic dinner planned; but I ended up doing some late work at the Church. She could have easily got upset. But she was a women of peace. No attitude. No slamming doors. No hateful words. No calling others & gossiping about how much I lacked balance. She had prayed to have a husband that loves & serves God. Yes I needed balance; but she was patient with me. So she rolled up her sleeves & worked the ministry beside me. Because she was patient, eventually (God dealt with me &) I balanced out & we could enjoy those Valentine dinners & trips. This is the type of Valentine I had. The lesson is do not pray for something, then have an issue with what you prayed for. No Jesus is not my Valentine (even though I hear people say that); He’s my Lord & Savior. But I’m grateful for the years he gave me with Rachel. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY to all! #NeverForgetRachelHankerson #ValentinesDay #HappyValentinesDay

Know When To Move In Silence

John 7:3-10 Living Bible, “3Jesus’ brothers urged him to go to Judea for the celebration. “Go where more people can see your miracles!” they scoffed. 4 “You can’t be famous when you hide like this! If you’re so great, prove it to the world!” 5 For even his brothers didn’t believe in him. 6 Jesus replied, “It is not the right time for me to go now. But you can go anytime and it will make no difference, 7 for the world can’t hate you; but it does hate me, because I accuse it of sin and evil. 8 You go on, and I’ll come later when it is the right time.” 9 So he remained in Galilee. 10 But after his brothers had left for the celebration, then he went too, though secretly, staying out of the public eye.

Listen To Older People

Job 12:12 ERV. …Wisdom is to be found in those who are old. Long life brings understanding.

1 Kings 12:6 ERV. There were some older men who had helped Solomon make decisions when he was alive…

Stay Balanced

Proverbs 30:8-9 Easy-to-Read Version. 8 …And don’t make me too rich or too poor—give me only enough food for each day. 9 If I have too much, I might deny that I need you, Lord. But if I am too poor, I might steal and bring shame to the name of my God.

1 Timothy 6:6-10 Living Bible 6 Do you want to be truly rich? You already are if you are happy and good. 7 After all, we didn’t bring any money with us when we came into the world, and we can’t carry away a single penny when we die. 8 So we should be well satisfied without money if we have enough food and clothing. 9 But people who long to be rich soon begin to do all kinds of wrong things to get money, things that hurt them and make them evil-minded and finally send them to hell itself. 10 For the love of money is the first step toward all kinds of sin. Some people have even turned away from God because of their love for it, and as a result have pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Being Well Thought Of

Acts 6:3 Living Bible. “Now look around among yourselves, dear brothers, and select seven men, wise and full of the Holy Spirit, who are WELL THOUGHT OF BY EVERYONE; and we will put them in charge of this business.

1 Timothy 3:7 Amplified Bible. And he must have a good reputation and be WELL THOUGHT OF BY THOSE OUTSIDE THE CHURCH, so that he will not be discredited and fall into the devil’s trap.

1 Timothy 5:10 Living BibleShe must be WELL THOUGHT OF BY EVERYONE because of the good she has done. Has she brought up her children well? Has she been kind to strangers as well as to other Christians? Has she helped those who are sick and hurt? Is she always ready to show kindness?
