THERE IS HOPE BEYOND THE GRAVE!

THERE IS HOPE BEYOND THE GRAVE! In the last two years, millions of families (including my own) have suffered sudden, untimely deaths of loved ones. But, the message of this day is that neither death nor the grave have the final say! 1 Cor 15:55 resounds, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” Whether you call it Easter or Resurrection Sunday, the fact remains, “He Got Up!” And, because He lives, we can face tomorrow! This is our hope, both now and forever! Happy Resurrection Day from the Hankerson family! #IveGotWorkToDo #Resurrection #ResurrectionSunday #Easter #EasterSunday #Easter2022

Surely! He Died On Calvary!

YOU DID IT! I did it. We are the ones that sent Jesus to the Cross. He died for our sins. Come with me now on a journey. Let’s go to Mount Calvary. They call it “Good Friday,” but it seems to be a bad day. The sky is dark. The crowds are gathered. Some are in shock and grief. Others are mocking. Yet others stand around in disbelief, that such a good man is being executed. Three crosses are before you. The Man in the middle is almost disfigured from the beating and abuse he has endured. Listen at him groaning in agony on the Cross. As we hush ourselves from the shock, we can hear Him saying something. He’s calling out to His Father. Now listen at my late wife, Lady Rachel Hankerson, as she sings and describes this somber scene (no one could do it like she could) …

Give Of Yourself For Souls

THIS TEXT GIVES US KEY FOR EFFECTIVE SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP: a minister must be willing to give their complete all for the souls of the people. No wonder all the gifts of the spirit operated in Paul’s churches and the power of God was present to heal: the focus was in the right place. No, it is not easy. Yes, it is a total sacrifice. But that is why Jesus taught us to count up the cost, before going into full time ministry; it is not like He did not warn us ahead of time. It is a blessing and an honor to serve God.

Ministry Comes With A Heavy Cost

MINISTRY COMES WITH A HEAVY COST. I have been in ministry 35 years. However, I was ordained (pictured here) at the age of 21 by the late Bishop T. L. Westbrook. That was June of 1993. One week after being ordained, our team founded my first church, Christ Temple COGIC. I did not realize the suffering, pain & hard times that I would have to endure (through the many years), in getting to where I am today in ministry. There is a heavy cost to ministry. God allows us to suffer, because it helps us to understand the Gospel that we preach; and the pain that Christ Jesus had to endure for our redemption. It also helps us to relate to the people we are called to feed with God’s Word. If you have never been through anything, it is hard to teach people that God will make a way. The greater the ministry/anointing, the greater the suffering to endure. There is no easy way, short cut or “fast track” around it. This is nothing out of the ordinary. Every person that God has used, has had to go through this exact same process. Let the following Scriptures encourage you, as you pay the cost for the anointing:

Matt 16:24 AMP. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].

2 Tim 2:3 TLB Take your share of suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, just as I do;

1 Pet 4:1 TLB. Since Christ suffered and underwent pain, you must have the same attitude he did; you must be ready to suffer, too. For remember, when your body suffers, sin loses its power.

It's All In The Name

 IT’S ALL IN THE NAME! When people ask me my name, it is only rarely that I will use a title attached to it. Names mean something. My name is a constant testimony & reminder to myself of Who God is & What He is in my life. He is the Captain, Compass & Anchor that navigates me through this journey called life; with its ups & downs. Here is what my name means below. Jot down what your name means; & every time you say your name, remember the significance of what it means.

ELIJAH – “The LORD is my God!”

HOSEA – “Salvation” (or “He Saves”)

HANKERSON – “The LORD Has Been Gracious” (i.e., favorable, merciful)

III – When I think of this, the following passages always come to my mind:

1 John 5:7. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Colossians 2:9. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
