THE WORLD SEES THE CHURCH’S HYPOCRISY!

I am thoroughly convinced that the biggest deterrent to world evangelism is NOT the devil. It is the actions of the people of God. The unsaved people of the world see how we treat each other and say, “I want no parts of that at all.”

Why do I bring this up? I have observed how we have respect of persons. This is especially so when it comes to fellow Christians being attacked on social media. If it’s a person we like being attacked; we will defend them with a vengeance. If it is someone we do not care for; it seems like the entire body of Christ will turn a blind eye, a deaf ear and allow the person to be “eaten by wolves.”

The people see this and (more importantly) God sees it as well. The Lord is NOT impressed at all with our: great preaching, big conferences, fancy clothes, raising money, building lavish buildings, latest technology, etc., etc., etc. What He is impressed with is when we DO His commandments and He has made it clear that His commandments are to love Him and love people.

Matthew 22:37-40 37Jesus replied: "'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

John 13:35 35By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Galatians 6:10 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

1 John 3:14 14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

These four Scriptures I just mentioned are NOT the focus of the Church. Even though I have been fortunate enough for the Church to treat me with respect; I am totally appalled at how we (on a general basis) handle each other. This applies to believers of ALL denominations (tongue talking, high church, low church, black, white, etc.).

It is only by the grace of God that believers are going to make it in at all. As the late Bishop C. P. Jones said, we are not “toting fair with Jesus.” We must change. We must repent. We must have revival now!

MISSOURI MIDWEST 3RD ANNUAL HOLY CONVOCATION!

For the last few years the Missouri Midwest Holy Convocation has become known as a spiritual feast in the St. Louis area. Even though it is a meeting sponsored by the Church Of God In Christ; people of all denominations (and no denomination) feel welcomed and inspired to come and learn and grow in their faith in God.

This year's Convocation (with people from as far away as Nigeria planning to attend) will be second to none. Daytime services will convene at Jurisdictional Headquarters (Life Center Int'l COGIC, 8500 Halls Ferry Rd., St Louis, MO) at 9:00 AM daily. Evening worship services will convene nightly at Kennerly Temple COGIC (4307 Kennerly Ave, St Louis, MO; where Bishop R. J. Ward is host pastor). The meeting starts off with Prayer Ablaze on Sunday and a Pre-Musical on Monday night.

This years special guests include: 2nd Assistant Presiding Bishop Jerry W. Macklin, Bishop Todd Hall, Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole, Presiding Bishop Emeritus Paul S. Morton and many many more! Go to www.mmej.org to register and obtain more information.

PENTECOST SUNDAY!

Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr., has called for a massive observance of the Day of Pentecost! Sunday, May 20, 2018 is Pentecost Sunday (also known as Whitsunday in some traditions). On this day the birth of the Christian Church is celebrated along with the descent of the Holy Spirit.

According to Scripture this occurred 50 days after the death of Jesus Christ and 10 days after His Ascension. Pentecost had initially been an ancient Israelite harvest festival.

Bishop Blake's desire is not just the Church Of God In Christ, but all Christians should seek for the power of the Holy Spirit in their life. He has stated, "I want everyone in the Church to experience being filled with the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues."

BREAKING NEWS: CASE DISMISSED AGAINST GOVERNOR GREITENS!

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/circuit-attorney-drops-charge-against-greitens-governor-calls-it-a/article_6fa58216-49d5-5dea-98ff-b85e1289b710.html#tracking-source=home-top-story

I am very disturbed at how Christians in the United States of America, align their faith with certain political parties. God is neither Democrat nor Republican. Both parties have some very egregious flaws. Democrats are NOT committed to the advancement of the black community. And, Republicans are NOT the moral compass of the nation.

Politics aside this is truly not a victory for the governor. Sin is not a victory. Adultery is not a victory. Here is what the Word says about such gloating.

1 Corinthians 5:1 Amplified Bible (AMP). It is actually reported [everywhere] that there is sexual immorality among you, a kind of immorality that is condemned even among the [unbelieving] Gentiles: that someone has [an intimate relationship with] his father’s wife.

Now, I can hear someone saying that, “well he’s not a part of  the church.” But, the Word and God’s standards apply to EVERYONE whether they are a part of the Church or not. This is why John the Baptist confronted wicked Herod over his adulterous relationship.

Mark 6:18. For John had been saying to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."

Well, isn’t that judging? We do not have to judge. The Bible by itself judges what is wrong and what is right. And, those standards go for you, me and everyone else. God cuts no corners with no one.

1 Corinthians 6:9. Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.

So, no, this is NOT a victory. This is NOT a time to rejoice. And, SHAME on any “Christian” who would consider it a victory. This case leads people to think that you can sin and get away with it. NOT SO. The Word is yet right!

Numbers 32:23. "But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.

Nahum 1:3. The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

BAPTISM IN JESUS' NAME OR FATHER SON AND HOLY GHOST?

This has been a controversy in Pentecostal circles for over 100 years: are we to baptize in Jesus' name only or in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost? Oneness (aka Apostolics) will say Father, Son and Holy Ghost are titles and not a name. Trinitarians will say that we need to do what Jesus said, "Father, Son and Holy Ghost."

Who is right? Who is wrong? This topic is so controversial that I am going to have to do this Bible Study in two segments. Part 1 is on May 8 and Part 2 is on May 15.

Spread the word! Get as many people to tune in as you can as we seek to finally put this battle to rest!
