Invest In Pastoral Training And Education

JUST AN IDEA: With such changing/treacherous times we are in, I encourage churches to invest in additional training/education for your pastor. Presenting birthdays, Pastoral anniversaries, appreciations, cars, suits, shoes etc., are fine in themselves (I am not talking against that). But, when you invest in furthering the (accredited & professional) education/training of a pastor (whether it is a class, workshop, or even a full-fledged degree), it raises the level of excellence, productivity, fruitfulness & relevance of your local ministry. AND, it sets a standard/culture, where church members are encouraged not to settle for mediocrity and status quo (for their own life). These are challenging times; but also times filled with great opportunity for effective ministry. Yes, we MUST be anointed, but we must also have skill, training, information & be equipped to function in that anointing.

“The man who knows how will always have a job. The man who knows why will always be his boss.” ―Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]! And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation].” - Proverbs 4:7 Amplified
