THE WORLD SEES THE CHURCH’S HYPOCRISY!

I am thoroughly convinced that the biggest deterrent to world evangelism is NOT the devil. It is the actions of the people of God. The unsaved people of the world see how we treat each other and say, “I want no parts of that at all.”

Why do I bring this up? I have observed how we have respect of persons. This is especially so when it comes to fellow Christians being attacked on social media. If it’s a person we like being attacked; we will defend them with a vengeance. If it is someone we do not care for; it seems like the entire body of Christ will turn a blind eye, a deaf ear and allow the person to be “eaten by wolves.”

The people see this and (more importantly) God sees it as well. The Lord is NOT impressed at all with our: great preaching, big conferences, fancy clothes, raising money, building lavish buildings, latest technology, etc., etc., etc. What He is impressed with is when we DO His commandments and He has made it clear that His commandments are to love Him and love people.

Matthew 22:37-40 37Jesus replied: "'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

John 13:35 35By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Galatians 6:10 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

1 John 3:14 14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

These four Scriptures I just mentioned are NOT the focus of the Church. Even though I have been fortunate enough for the Church to treat me with respect; I am totally appalled at how we (on a general basis) handle each other. This applies to believers of ALL denominations (tongue talking, high church, low church, black, white, etc.).

It is only by the grace of God that believers are going to make it in at all. As the late Bishop C. P. Jones said, we are not “toting fair with Jesus.” We must change. We must repent. We must have revival now!
