MUCH RESPECT TO EVERY CHURCH PLANTER, IN THIS SEASON! Having pastored an existing church and pioneered two churches, in my 35-year ministry career; I have seen the pros and cons of both. However, it takes a special strength/anointing to start a church completely from scratch; especially in the current spiritual climate. There is much sacrifice, sweat and tears; but also, the great reward in seeing lives changed. In seminary I learned that most new church plants close up in the first two years. If you can make it through those first two years, you are on your way. I also learned that it takes an average of 30 years for a new church to establish, mature and settle. The more you endure and overcome, the stronger your ministry becomes. Stay consistent and sincere. Be real with God and real with the people and He will bless you tremendously!

 

1 Peter 5:10. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

We Have To Check Our Motives

This makes you wonder if the prophet Micah was referring to 737 BC (the time his ministry began) or AD 2022. Nevertheless, we must all pray that our attitude, actions and motives are pure.

Don't Take Bribes

 

Select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. (Ex 18:21 NLT)

 

He is the great God… who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed. (Deut 10:17 NLT)

 

Never accept a bribe, for bribes blind the eyes of the wise and corrupt the decisions of the godly. (Deut 16:19 NLT)

 

They were greedy for money. They accepted bribes and perverted justice. (1 Sam 8:3 NLT)

 

The Lord our God does not tolerate perverted justice, partiality, or the taking of bribes. (2 Chron 19:7 NLT)

 

Their homes, enriched through bribery, will burn. (Job 15:34 NLT)

 

But watch out, or you may be seduced by wealth. Don’t let yourself be bribed into sin. (Job 36:18 NLT)

 

Those…who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever (Ps 15:5 NLT)

Your leaders are rebels, the companions of thieves. All of them love bribes and demand payoffs, but they refuse to defend the cause of orphans or fight for the rights of widows. (Is 1:23 NLT)

Woe To The Elite Few

GOD GAVE THE PEOPLE POWER. But it is up to us to use it. Wars, pandemics, etc. are “money makers” for an elite few. During the pandemic alone, the top 10 billionaires in the world either doubled or tripled their income. People should always pray. But, for example, with rising gas prices, we can do something about it (along with those prayers). Hit the elite where it hurts. If everyone bands together and chooses to drive less, demand goes down, prices must go down. There are so many methods that can be utilized (if everyone bands together) to place influence in the hands of the people; where our lives are not hampered by the selfishness of a select few.

 

Luke 1:51-53 CEV. 51 The Lord has used his powerful arm to scatter those who are proud. 52 He drags strong rulers from their thrones and puts humble people in places of power. 53 God gives the hungry good things to eat, and sends the rich away with nothing.

 

James 5:1-6 ERV. 5 You rich people, listen! Cry and be very sad because much trouble will come to you. 2 Your riches will rot and be worth nothing. Your clothes will be eaten by moths. 3 Your gold and silver will rust, and that rust will be a proof that you were wrong. That rust will eat your bodies like fire. You saved your treasure in the last days. 4 People worked in your fields, but you did not pay them. They are crying out against you. They harvested your crops. Now the Lord All-Powerful has heard their cries. 5 Your life on earth was full of rich living. You pleased yourselves with everything you wanted. You made yourselves fat, like an animal ready for the day of slaughter. 6 You showed no mercy to good people. They were not against you, but you killed them.
