DID OUR CITIES MISS OUR CHURCHES, WHILE THEY WERE CLOSED? While being transported to a Sunday morning preaching engagement (in a major metropolitan area), I noticed that the doors of most churches were closed. That is not what was troubling. What was troubling was the fact that the community carried on with their business as usual; totally indifferent to whether the churches (buildings) were opened or not. My prayer today is that the Church would be so effective at attending to the spiritual needs of communities, that populations everywhere will be impacted (positively) by the Church (Not just one local church, but the Church collectively. One local church alone cannot “take the city.” It takes the Church as a whole).
Matthew 21:10 AMP. When He entered Jerusalem, all the city was trembling [with excitement], saying, “Who is this?”
Acts 8:8 KJV. And there was great joy in that city.
Acts 16:20 NLT. “The whole city is in an uproar because of these Jews!” they shouted to the city officials.
